The recesses beside a chimney breast are prime storage going to waste. We turn them into built-in wardrobes that fit perfectly and look like they were always part of the room.
Almost every period room in Edinburgh has them — the alcoves either side of a chimney breast, or a natural nook that's too shallow for freestanding furniture. Left empty they're wasted space. Filled with a shop-bought unit they leave gaps down the sides and never quite fit.
A bespoke alcove wardrobe solves both. Built to the exact width, depth and height of the recess, it fills the space completely and sits flush to the walls, so it reads as part of the architecture rather than something added on.
